I was especially intrigued after seeing my thrift guiding client Jenise walk around in her "new" Miz Mooz with her sporty socks, so the very next day, I decided to give this trend a wholehearted bootie try based on the Pinterest example I pulled to illustrate the trend...
I'm *exactly* the same except twice her size and twice her age.
Chambray $6 Salvation Army Thrift Shop
Skirt $4.90, belt $3.50, and ankle booties $13 VV Boutique
Socks and accessories from my closet
I would have preferred the skirt to be about an inch or two shorter but I wanted a neutral palette so this was my closest midi option. As long as there is some skin showing, you're good to go.
I didn't do anything fancy with the socks, just kinda slouched them down so I didn't look like a grandpa.
Love the pretty details on this chambray - polka dot lining on the cuffs and collar, ceramic buttons.
So I totally needed it even though I have another chambray or two.
I was pleasantly surprised by the flattering look.
Need some inspiration before trying this trend? Look on Pinterest or pick up any fall magazine. I found this post by Fashionista to be particularly helpful with her advice equally applicable to other footwear besides sandals. I kinda think that anything goes for this trend as long as
whatever look you try, you embrace with gusto! There's no being timid
or hesitant; just put on your socks, put on your sandals/booties/flats and go!
If no one else you know is doing it, you might as well be the trendsetter!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog! I am thrilled you discovered my blog from the magazine and find it helpful. I know I find so much inspiration from other bloggers for outfits. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
