Polka Dot Time

I'm not sure what I think of the newfandangled term "dot" to describe a polka-dot pattern.  I guess "polka" makes it sound a bit colloquial...?  I have used "dot" to describe patterns before, but I must admit it felt a little forced.  So I'm just going to embrace my golden oldie self and call this Liz & Co. sweater "polka dot!"

I have been on the hunt for polka dot patterned anything for a long time.  I've been seeing them everywhere, from Anthropologie (here and here), Kendi (here and here), Everyday Mom Style, J's Everyday Fashion (here and here) to other awesome bloggers like The Gleeful Fashionista.  I could go on.  So when I saw this sweater I quickly grabbed it before my splurge sister could (!) and did a little jump for joy when it fit perfectly!  (It wouldn't have fit you in the arms, Sister.  Let's go with that.)

I didn't have time to play styling dress-up with this sweater.  I wanted to pair it with something simple but interesting for its inaugural wear.  Last I checked, orange and blue were complimentary colours!  Easy decision!
Even though I don't have three layers, I've got polka dots, orange pants and the beautiful sapphire pendant necklace from my hubby after I had my second baby (who will be 5 years old this month!); that's three interesting elements to my outfit and I think it works!  Simple, interesting and comfortable for a great day spent with a great friend!

  1. Hey there! Lovely blog. I'm honestly not sure how to subscribe--I have all my daily blog reads in a bookmark folder. I LOVE this sweater in navy! Wish I had found it in both. I've worn it again since here http://bsgoodwillhunting.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-lilac-gingham-blouse.html I started using a new method to show the cost of items, but now the brands and item descriptions are not in text so people can't search them. I'd love some feedback (I'm still an new blogger!) Feel free to email me, I'd love to hear from you.
